The process of watching seeds grow is a wonderful activity for children, especially when the seeds sprout quickly. Alfalfa is an easy-to-grow seed that should be sprouting within a week. To watch the seeds germinate you can sprinkle some alfalfa seeds on a piece of damp paper towel.

You'll need:
A packet of seeds from alfalfa (about 1.5g)
a small plate or saucer
Three pieces of paper towel
an air mister, or a small water Jug

How to grow:
Set 3 sheets of paper towel on a plate.
After that, you should drain the water off the plate. The paper towel should be dampened, شركات البذور الزراعية في مصر but seeds shouldn't be floating in the water.
Sprinkle the seeds evenly onto the paper towel.
Place on a sunny windowsill and water to stop the paper towel from drying out. It is possible to use spray bottles or misters to soak the seeds or add a tiny amount of water to the saucer by using the smallest cup or jug.
You should check your seeds daily to see how they're developing.

Troubleshooting
Alfalfa is a simple to cultivate seed that can begin to germinate within 2-6 days. Here are some issues to keep an eye on when your seeds fail to germinate in this time.

Too dry Seeds require water in order to grow. Alfalfa seeds absorb around their own weight of water before they germinate, and look larger. If your seeds are too dry, they will not germinate. Add more water to the plate so the seeds are damp but not floating on the surface. You could also soak your seeds overnight; just make sure you drain them and rinse them with clean water before spreading them onto the towel.

Too moistIf the seeds are too damp, their shoots and roots could become rotten before they are able to develop. The seeds can also become mouldy. It's OK for the paper towel to be moist however, the seeds shouldn't be floating in water. Every time you water or mist the seeds, rinse off the excess water.

Too cold or too hot: Alfalfa thrives in temperatures between 20 and 25°C. If you're planting your seeds indoors in winter, set them in a warm area. If you are growing your seeds in very hot temperatures, it is possible to water the seeds more frequently since they'll dry out more quickly.
